This
tutorial was done using PSP X, but will work in PSP version 8 through
the lastest version. It is intended to serve as a learning tool.
The screen shots may look slightly different pending which PSP version
you are using, but similar enough to figure out. I never owned 7
so I don't know if that version has the features needed. The images
on this page are reduced for space. You will need: **
Paint Shop Pro - download a trial version here
**
A good working knowledge of how to download files and navigate
to folders on your computer ** A program that will unzip
my tube(s) that you downloaded
Getting
started First, if you have not already done so, you
will need to make sure that you tell PSP what file types you want
it to associate with by doing the following:
** Open PSP
and at the top, click on "File", "Preferences",
"File Format Associations...".
** Another menu
will come up. Select "Select All", then select "OK".
Make sure that all boxes have a check mark in them. Please see the
screen shots below.

Download
one of my tubes.
**
Next pick a tube that you want to download. Remember they are in
PSPIMAGE format and are on a transparent background. I have made
sure they are compatible with PSP versions 7 and up. If you don't
have PSP software, you will need to download it or ask a friend
who has the program to do this tut for you and send you the converted
file.
** Navigate
to the folder you downloaded the file to and unzip it. Some operating
systems, like Vista Home Premium have a free unzip program built
in but if you do not have a program, you can purchase a program
like Winzip and I believe there are free ones out on the Internet.
Please research it.
** Double left click on the unzipped
file and it will open up in PSP.
Convert
the file
** We are
now ready to convert the file from a PSPIMAGE format to a PNG format.
At the top click on "File", "Save As".
**
A new menu will come up showing on the bottom the current format
the file is in and above it the file name.
** Place your
cursor on the dropdown menu. A new menu will come up. Using the
side scrollbar, scroll to find the PNG option and highlight it by
clicking on it and then click on "Save".
You will
now have converted the saved file to PNG format instead of PSPIMAGE
format. See screen shots below. To change it back or to another
file format just repeat the above instructions and select the file
type you wish to convert the file to.
